Periodontology
Periodontology (from the Greek peri – around and odontos – a tooth) is, as the name suggests, the treatment of all tissues around the tooth.
Healthy periodontal tissues surround the tooth and hold it in the bone. As a result of inflammation, which is the most common cause of periodontitis, the tissues and their functions weaken. Chronic, untreated inflammation of the periodontal structures leads to loosening of the teeth and, consequently, to their loss.
At Neo-Dent, we deal with the diseases of the oral cavity, which our patients most often deal with:
- periodontitis,
- diseases of the mucosa,
- “dry mouth” – xerostomia,
- gum recessions, bare roots,
- pathological tooth mobility.
